UK Grid Refence Finder - Find a postcode in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) from Grid Reference or what3words location. IT'S NOT THE SAME AS THE ROYAL MAIL ONE where you need to supply either the postcode (if you know it) or part of the address to find the postcode.
Here you have a map of the UK which you can then click on and zoom down to the area in which you are interested. It will then give you the postcode of that area, plus grid reference or vice versa. Remembering grid references ences Alternatively it also has what3words references which will give you the location to the nearest metre! This is what the instructionsd say: "Simply right click on the map to find a grid reference at that point. Enter a location search below to zoom to the approximate location"
For example entering "Wolverton Works" comes up with Grid Reference SP 81225 41253, Latitude & Longitude 52°03'49"N , 000°49'00"W, What3Words: "switched.saving.smothered" and the postcode MK12 5TL. Of course Wolverton Works still covers a a rather large area and this actually plonks you in the middle of what some locals still call the "New Works" (well it was in the late 1800s when the LNWR considerably expanded the Works!). |
